Depth Image Bank

The main subject of the photo is the leaf, this automatically draws the viewers attention as it is glowing in the light and most of the picture is quite dull and colourless apart from a few of the same leaves out of focus, this photo is effective in showing depth and the way distance changes the focus of certain images.
I love the the reflection of the lights on the pool ball this illuminates it and shows the viewer that apart from it being the only object in focus it also brings attention to it because of the light, the depth of the other balls on the table are out of focus to show distance etc.
I love how the main subject of the image is the little boy peering out to the left hand side of the line, he is the only person in focus and despite him not being at the front of the line and being the smallest, the depth of the image only makes him in focus. I also love how the faces of the boys at the front of the line are blurred out and this helps with the colours being in only black and white.
I love how the first bird and pole that it is sitting on is focus and one after the other the bird and the poles get more and more out of focus, this is due to the depth of field increasing and changing our perspective on the clarity of the birds.
The middle can of coke is the one which is in focus, this is effective because it is not the closest and yet has a greater depth away but still has an amazing clarity to it, it also reflects the light very well.
This is my favourite image in depth because both sides are blurred out and merge perfectly with the subtle changes in colour and the colour red in the fading backdrop is symbolic of blood and this links to the image of war as barbed wire is also symbolic of this, i would love to use a contextual idea like this as well as an alternate portrail of depth and what becomes an immediate subject and focus point.
