Then i decided to rotate the image of the badge, the angle that moved it to was so that it would appear as if the badge was a cover of a record on the diagonal left hand side wall, however it doesn't appear realistic or particularly complete either, i also need to change the brightness and contrast again. Even the angle of the image looks a bit out if you follow the image against the main leading line that it's parallel to. There is definitely room for improvement on both of these images.

Landscape Composite Image
In this landscape image, in a record shop in London I decided to input an image of a badge with a band name on it into the picture, I tried to place it In a record cover, however it looks very unrealistic and unprofessional as the input image doesn't look like it should be there because of the tone and colour, therefore it gives a really out of place artificial effect, the original idea to put the Joy Division band badge in the image, was because obviously both the place and the input image are related to music and also the shape of the badge is the same shape as the records and so i thought that it wouldn't stand out, however what i should've done is turn down the brightness and contrast of the input image as to make the tone fit in more with the rest of the image.
Then i decided to rotate the image of the badge, the angle that moved it to was so that it would appear as if the badge was a cover of a record on the diagonal left hand side wall, however it doesn't appear realistic or particularly complete either, i also need to change the brightness and contrast again. Hannah Hoch Research
Hannah Höch (German, November 1, 1889 – May 31, 1978) was a German Dada artist. She is best known for her work of the Weimar period, when she was one of the originators of photomontage. Hannah Höch was born Anna Therese Johanne Höch in Gotha, Germany. In 1912 she began classes at the School of Applied Arts in Berlin under the guidance of glass designer Harold Bergen. She chose the curriculum glass design and graphic arts, rather than fine arts, to please her rather. In 1914, at the start of World War I, she left the school and returned home to Gotha to work with the Red Cross. In 1915 she returned to school, entering the graphics class of Emil Orlik at the National Institute of the Museum of Arts and Crafts.
Portrait of Hannah Hoch, 1992. This image is a self portrait that consists of different pictures stuck together to make collage portrait, i love the surreal aesthetic of the image and the way all her body parts are out of proportion, this is the sort of effect that she's trying to create, i would love to make images in the style of Hoch as i'm really drawn to the political/ surrealist type images that she produces as i think it's very interesting yet challenging.

Cut with the Dada Kitchen Knife through the Last Weimar Beer-Belly Cultural Epoch in Germany, 1919. The whole if this collage is very politically motivated, within the image issues on homosexuality, womens rights, marriage and racial prejudice. This is a great reflection of the times as in Germany during that period there was a lot of political tension. I love the bleakness of the image and the mute changes in colour throughout and the way all the images are quite industrial and powerful.

Ruut Blees Luxemburg Research
Rut Blees Luxemburg (born 1967) is a German photographer. Her technique is to take photographs at night, mostly exploring the urban landscape. She is a Tutor at the Royal College of Art.
This image is great as it shows off reflection effectively, I love how simple yet interesting the shot is as it just reflects everyday normal life, the reflection is of a train station sign, the picture is beautifully illuminated in the puddle, the shot is a really warm bright colourful shot, this is the effect that Luxemburg is trying to create despite the fact that all her shots are at night. The leading line in this picture is obviously the trains station sign, which is the main subject of this piece.
I have chosen to take pictures for my photography project in the style of luxemburg as the way all shots are taken in night and of just really ordinary life really appeals to me.
Luxemburg studied photography at London College of Communication and gained her last formal education at the University of Westminster. She employs long exposures to allows her to use the light emanating from the street only, for instance from office blocks or street lights in her photos. Luxemburg created a series of images for the London Underground in 2007. Many of her photographs and prints deal with nocturnal themes.

This image reflects normal day life and sleep patterns as the lights clearly show all the people who are awake and vice versa, i love all the colours as within the main subject being the building, the bright lighted windows contrast with the same coloured lights in the backdrop of the picture, the image also have green leading lines being the walls and rows of windows.
I love the angle of this shot, this image has been clearly taken with a long shutter speed as all the lights on the road from the influx of traffic have been captured, this gives a really cool effect as the whole image is quite bleak and thin in colour, however all the colours contrast really well. The leading lines of the roads contrast really well against the bright green court and the top of the image, this creates a really cool effect.I have chosen to take pictures for my photography project in the style of luxemburg as the way all shots are taken in night and of just really ordinary life really appeals to me.
Ansel Adams Research
Ansel Adams was an intillegent, intense, shy, understated, dyslexic genius, after wanting to pursue music as a career, he went into photography instead he was orb ion San Francisco, a keen naturalist inspired by Yosemite National park, he was born in 1902 and died in 1984. He is an infamous landscape photographer, he is known for a particular style.
Group f/64 was a group of seven 20th-century San Francisco photographers with a photographic style that is sharp-focused and carefully framed images seen through a particularly Western (U.S.) viewpoint. They formed in opposition to the Pictorialist photographic style that had dominated much of the early 20th century, but moreover they wanted to promote a new Modernist aesthetic that was based on precisely exposed images of natural forms and found object.
F/64 is a small aperture setting on a large format camera, which creates great depth of field, small aperture sometimes implies a long exposure sometimes implies long exposure which often captures still life such as landscapes.
Previsualisation- Visualisation was a massive part of Adam's photography, it's a function to visualize complex scenes in a movie before filming. It's in still photography. Previsualization is applied to techniques such as storyboarding, either in the form of charcoal drawn sketches or in digital technology in the planning and conceptualization of movie scenery make up.
Adam's always shot in black and white because of the zone system and within this, as there are 9 tones within black and white this creates mass variation in tone which adds and creates Adam's unique styled pieces, the great detail and tone, which means that the blacks and white colours are all visible.
This image was taken in Yosemite National Park, this picture was clearly taken with a small aperture which is why the picture has a great depth of field as, all the photo is in focus, the changes in tone change massively within the composition of the image because of the zone system in black and white. The clarity and structure of this image is beautiful as the clear leading lines of the car, the man and he mountains all come together to create variation in subjects an tone.
In this picture of a desert, Adams has once again shot in black and white, this works especially well as the natural world being a desert is very blank and doesn't change colour, so variation in tone will only change depending on light, he clearly uses dodge and burn this picture to emphasise change in tone where the light hits the right hand side of the sand dune. A small aperture has been used to allow subtle changes in light this makes the appearance of the dunes seem darker and blank. This picture also has a great depth of field because all dunes are in focus.
This naturalist image of silver birch trees comes across in a very artificial way as the trees are illuminated and don't look real, however the reason that they are so light in tone is because Adam's only shoots are in black and white therefore this is a prime example of how within zone system lighter tones can really stand out and contrast against the mute dark backdrop, the depth of field is interesting as everything is in focus but the main subject being the trees at the front of the picture are more clear. Black and white is definitely something that i'd love to try out more especially in nature as it can really bring out a raw definition to images, a small aperture is also something I want to use as it's something that really allows small mute changes within tone to happen.
Landscape Definition
Landscape photography shows spaces within the world, sometimes vast and unending, but other times microscopic. Landscape photographs typically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances of landscapes.
This image has rule of thirds, which means the composition of the image has quite an even and equal distribution in structure of image , the image is bright and has a reflection, and good symmetry.
this image has clearly been taken at exactly the right moment. The symmetry that the road creates makes the balance of the trees perfectly equal on each side Also the persceptive of the image draws the viewers eye into the road due to the angle and placement of the trees
Urban photography is shot in this landscape piece, when looking at this shot, you are automatically drawn to the leading lines of the building and centre line on the floor, the angle of the shot is great as it changes perspective by looking up.
Landscape photography- is the capturing of natural or man-made settings and environments, to document a place.
Photo Manipulation Work Diary
For my first image, when getting to grips with photoshop i wanted to assemble a image that was easy to make, and so i chose a moon and a yellow rubber duck to start, i cut around the duck and pasted it onto my other layer being the moon, this was rather easy and so i decided to leave it as it was and move on to something more challenging visually interesting.
for my second photo-manipulation image i decided to choose something political, so i searched google for pictures of David Cameron eating, i then inserted one into photoshop, then i searched up Pigs in blankets and then edited the food he was sting in the original picture with pigs in blankets. I think this makes for an interesting picture because of the political significance etc. However, parts of the image do look realistic and others really don't for example the plate that Cameron is eating poff of is the most bright part of the whole image and the pig in blanket that he is eating is a different size and colour to the ones on the plate, this therefore makes it look quite unrealistic.
For the progression I would like to shoot a certain picture preferably in the studio, so have an idea and an image that I want to use to show progress in future and show development and process from just taking a still and changing it into a composite image instead of just finding an image online and adding to it. As in this image you can see that the man has been shot in the studio with the intention of what this photographer new the image was going to become.
This image is great because, you can see the stages taken to create the final photo manipulated image, as there first image is clearly a non-edited image from a studio, then the second is clearly photoshopped and edited to create the effect of the woman's legs as robotic, showing process and creative intent is definitely something that i want to incorporate into my images.

Composite Image/ Photo-Manipulation Definition
Compositing is the combining of visual elements from separate sources into single images, often to create the illusion that all those elements are parts of the same scene.
Photo manipulation is a process to transform a photograph into a desired image. There are currently many different software applications to choose from ranging from professional applications to basic imaging software for the casual user.
Photo manipulation- this image is a really creative idea, the symbolism is very strong and inventive in this image, i like how realistic the image comes across, the fist coming out of the phone clearly shows a violent relationship and the impact then reaches the woman.
This image is a very comical display of image manipulation, the mans being enlarged very in-proportionately this is a very interesting image to look at, the contrast of the mans normal sized body to the head is a really great idea.
All the different photos that make this composite image is really intricate and detailed, the concept is really and effective in showing different elements all come together.
The same person being used multiple times gives an interesting effect, all the photo's that come together to make up this composite image are really well constructed as they all look really convincing in portraying a scene.
My own definition: The ordering and assembling of different photos to make one collective image.

Image Manipulation Ethics/ areas of work
In this day and age, anyone and everyone has the power to manipulate images, they can simply go on to photoshop and edit any picture that a journalist could have shot, this makes editing such an accessible normal thing to do, whereas in the past this sort of ease would not have been available, however, since the start of photography, images have always been doctered etc. This presents a problem throughout histoy of how much of the original image is still remaining and how much truth is the picture now portrarying. It becomes an issue of ethics vs aesthetics or art vs journalism. This creates a point as, it could be viewed that a journalist is a photographer that documents reality and therefore it is ethically wrong for such pictures to be changed as it will no longer tell the truth. Whereas if someone takes a picture purely for the purpose of art, ethics is not an issue as art is not something that doesn't need to be real as it is a creative endeavour.
Often times, for the individual and the person, or even, professional photographer ‘photoshopping’ is no big deal. It is a little bit different for a media manager. They have to walk that thin line of portraying the truth of the scene, what actually happened, what it physically looked like, so that those that are learning about it through that managers organization are getting the truth, as best they can present.
